About From One Mother To Another (FOMTA)
From 1 Mother 2 Another Inc., is a grassroots not-for-profit charity enkindled by Tracey DeMartis in 2013. FOMTA is based on her experiences as a new mother, was inspired by her brother, Mickey DeMartis and is dedicated to community driven gifting of new/unopened children’s essentials to mothers.
Our Goal
FOMTA’s continuing goal is to help as many families as possible, on an individual basis. What initially began as simple gift baskets made at home, and donated to a local church has blossomed into a wellspring of giving.
These unique baskets are filled with a cornucopia of new and essential items and vary based upon the age of each child. FOMTA baskets are gifted with the intention of easing the burden of a new mom, or a family, and are typically arranged for children from newborn to 5 years old.
By staying community-based and oriented FOMTA is able to maintain a direct conduit of diapers, formula, clothing, etc. from our donors straight to specific recipients. FOMTA’s Donors are encouraged to take credit for their kindness, and are acknowledged with each and every gift basket that is prepared. We put a personal stamp on every item received. That this process touches the hearts of all of those involved is exemplified in our mothers, mothers who have received baskets, then donated other new or unused items of their own years later. This truly exemplifies the purpose and hope of our charity; the inspiration and involvement of simply ‘paying it forward’ From 1 Mother 2 Another.
